Great restaurant We loved it. We were there on a lovely summer evening. The restaurant exudes real Italian flair, thanks to the furnishings and retro-Italo music. Super nice service who is always attentive and really has the shop under control. The food, we had starters, pizza and pasta, was first class. You don't often find such good Italian food. In terms of price, it was completely normal. It's a shame that Passau is so far away from us. Otherwise we would be permanent guests at Il Monastero.

We went to this Italian restaurant once for lunch. We were lucky that we got something at 13:55. We had two pasta dishes. Both were totally bland and carelessly arranged. While we were sitting there, a total of 8 customers were turned away because the lunch break starts at 2:30 p.m. That's what I call really bad customer service.

Thanks, everything went well. Friendly, nimble staff, helpful, competent and we were well advised when we asked for recommendations. Food, wine and ambience match. The variety of restaurants in Passau does not make the decision easy. We didn't want to eat typically Bavarian and deliberately looked for "world cuisine" ... and found ... lovers of Italian cuisine should go here.

Large selection plus a large weekly menu! The food was delicious and the portions just right. I can only recommend it!

Very, very tasty food. I love this ambience when the tables are (also) on the street. That gives me that absolute holiday feeling. I'm sure to be here more often.

Don't actually write recessions, but after getting annoyed for days, I want to get rid of it. Together with my father, I just walked past the sidewalk on June 23, 2020. Suddenly I get cursed so hard and loud from close up from behind. It was a waiter of this place, it probably wanted to go faster than me. At first it was not clear to me that this was due to me, since I have no eyes behind. When I turned to the waiter, he looked at me angrily, so it was definitely mine. Out of respect for my father, I didn't reply. I'm still annoyed by this rude behavior, wondering if it could legally be a criminal offense. Furthermore, it is also a corona violation, no distance maintained, no mask worn, but half shouted at. I can't say anything about the restaurant, I just went by. an angry passer-by writes.

The food is delicious and the service friendly. Unfortunately, none of the staff abides by the Corona rules.

What counts for me when I go to an Italian restaurant? Clearly the ambience, I want to feel a little like on a vacation in Italy and a pizza seafood should accompany me. To the ambience. The restaurant is in an old building, in the entrance area you first think you are in a small church or something similar when you are greeted by the sculptures and decorations. It also suits Italy, everyone knows who has really dealt with the country and its islands outside the tourist strongholds. "There is a church in every village" is a good ?. At the same time, the name "il Monastero - the monastery" is the program here The actual restaurant interior then continues acoustically with typical Italian music, so that you can hear it beautifully, but it does not disturb the conversations at the table. The spiritual touch from the entrance area is then no longer available. Have a look around to see if you might see one or two details that might remind you of your stay in Italy. Decoration like: Wine filled in water plastic bottles, dried "chilli bushes" and one or two souvenirs from your own family vacation you may encounter. Oh yes that reminds me of authentic places in Italy. That the staff speaks Italian (of course also German ?) and of course the service is filled with passion round off the feeling again. Conclusion on ambience: "Welcome to real italy ??" Now for eating. I like seafood and I like pizza. So sometimes I get a pizza "Frutti di Mare". For me it is the supreme discipline for pizzas. In addition to a good dough and suitable seasoning ingredients, the selection and quality of the seafood must be right here! Here the card advertises in brackets with "fresh seafood" ... sounded great and is a MUST HAVE on a real seafood pizza. Often you just get frozen food on it, which just tastes grotty and also soaks the pizza. This is definitely not the case here, here are fresh things on the table that bring the sea into your mouth ? The selection and number is also proud. In the case of low-quality pizzas, the mussels (without shell) often predominate, in addition there are a few mini shreds of squid and octopus ..... of course it is cheap frozen goods and here you simply try out the market price of a seafood Pizza maximize profit. NOT so in "il Monastero". In addition to mussels, the more expensive clams also come to light here, of course with a shell just like fresh ingredients look! In addition, nice pieces of squid / octopus, shrimps on it ... you look picture, this is a seafood pizza. Conclusion seafood pizza: MEGA! ? We were 8 people (including one child). 5x pizza, 2x pasta and a mixed salad. Everything looked great and everyone enjoyed it very much. Finally, an espresso, tastes great here and price-performance definitely fits here. In the sense: Enjoy it ??☕?

The food is said to be excellent. Unfortunately we could not convince ourselves of this. The service was simply not linguistically able to record, made us wait 1.5 hours and went back when we saw empty glasses. The loving design of the wine cellar does not help, that is the ultimate service fiasco.

Lovely food. We had a reat daily pasta dish of stock fish, and the mixed sharing antipasti starter was good. But don't be in a hurry if busy. Food came quickly but need another waiter when busy as it took a while to get the dessert and bill.

Went to the "monk" restaurant on advice from our guide. What a fantastic and delicious decision. The wine, the pizza, the pasta were exceptional! We are definitely glad we asked and really appreciate the advice. Don't miss this gem.

Food was excellent, but only one server seemed to be working. She did the best she could, but really needed some help - especially to clear tables. Several customers left because there was no one clearing tables. We decided to get dessert across the street at the gelato stand, just to simplify things. Aside from the service, good selection on the menu. Pizza looked good. I had spaghetti, and it was very good.

Big fan! Very friendly service. Like nowhere else in Passau. I was even helped to get down the steps with my disability. Food was very nice and quick (but definitely not microwave quick) to arrive. Love the atmosphere. Good, clean toilets. The restaurant is full of nice little touches that make it even nicer to be in.
